Curating instead of selling – what that means?

Most showrooms display collections. We display an attitude. Since our founding in 1981 by Harald Pflüger, we have seen ourselves not as retailers, but as curators. That sounds like a marketing phrase. But it is a decision that has to be made anew every day.

Curating means: we don't take on what sells well. We select what is good. We work exclusively with partners whose standards we know – not from data sheets, but from personal encounters and many years of active collaboration. Every partnership is a decision that we do not want to reverse.

Our showroom in Düsseldorf is deliberately only accessible by appointment. This is not an obstacle – it is an invitation to a genuine encounter. No rush, no pressure. Just the project and the people behind it.

What makes the difference.

There are many things you can buy at PFLÜGER KG. But that is not the core of what we offer. What we offer is guidance in a market that needs guidance – and rarely gets it.

We do not know our materials from data sheets, but from years of experience with architects, builders and completed projects. We know how New Zealand wool reacts to sunlight. We know which fabric will last two years in a hotel corridor and which will last twenty. We know when a room needs more than just a beautiful carpet.
